Jessica Haynes – NDE

Jessica Haynes had her near-death experience in 1983. She was 27 years old at the time, working 10-14 hours a day, seven days a week in marketing and advertising. Her NDE occurred as the result of a horrific car crash. While the driver of the car was unharmed, Jessica suffered terrible injuries. The right side of her face was crushed, her jaw was pulled off, her right eye had been pushed into her skull, the vertebrae in her spine had been crushed and bulged out, the bones in her feet had been shattered, she had no feeling in her legs or toes, and she couldn’t move her body below her waste. Her doctors said that she would be physically disfigured for the rest of her life. According to Jessica, she miraculously recovered from her life-threatening injuries in six months, which astonished her doctors. Raymond Kinman – NDE

Raymond Kinman experienced his near-death experience in 1966 when he was nine years old. As a result of a Judo throw gone wrong, Raymond, a 4th grader at the time, landed on the top of his head, on concrete. As a result, Raymond’s body began convulsing and his tongue retracted, causing his body to suffocate.

Raymond found himself in a place with “no gravity, no color, no darkness, and no light.” Says Raymond, “I didn’t know where I was or how I had gotten there. I was absolutely terrified.” When Raymond was finally able to let go of his fear, he felt better. And then he saw a pinpoint of light “10 million times brighter than the sun.” He then met a spiritual being who knew him and who introduced him to God. “Beautiful, blissful pure love” is how he describes the encounter. After spending time with The Light and a multitude of other beings that made The Light, Raymond was told, against his wishes, that he must return.

When he recovered, he told his mother what had happened. A devout Catholic, she took him to a priest, who told him that since he didn’t see Jesus in the experience, it was probably a trick of Satan. The conflict between what Raymond experienced and the counsel he received from his priest caused Raymond to actively suppress his experience for many years. It wasn’t until years later — when the term “near-death experience” was created — that he realized he wasn’t alone.

Raymond did not speak publicly about his experience for 45 years. In recent years, he has spoken at many chapters and at the IANDS national conference. And now, almost a half century after his NDE, he can say, “When I die I’ll have a big smile on my face… because I know what’s coming!” Continue reading →

Rob Wood – NDE

Rob Wood was born in 1948 at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, to a Jewish mother and Southern Baptist father who resolved the theological conflict by agreeing to never mention God or religion in the home. At the age of 10, Rob became a seeker on his own, setting the stage for a life-long quest to understand the nature of God, humanity, and his part in the Cosmic play. While in search of a deeper grasp of universal truths, Rob read about the therapeutic use of LSD by Stanislav Grof, Timothy Leary and other researchers, and he decided to do some serious experimentation of his own. On Valentine’s Day in 1968, due to a miscalculation in the potency of the tablets Rob took, he accidentally ingested 70 times the standard dosage required for the experience, and abruptly left his body. Rob’s account of the ensuing journey through this universe and beyond, his immersion in the “river of souls” he found there, and his reluctant return to Earth, is a unique look at the NDE/STE phenomenon. Dr. George Rodonaia – NDE

Reverend George Rodonaia (died October 12, 2004) underwent one of the most extended cases of a near-death experience ever recorded. Pronounced dead immediately after he was hit by a car in 1976, he was left for three days in the morgue. He did not “return to life” until a doctor began to make an incision in his abdomen as part of an autopsy procedure. Prior to his NDE he worked as a neuropathologist. He was also an avowed atheist. Yet after the experience, he devoted himself exclusively to the study of spirituality, taking a second doctorate in the psychology of religion. He then became an ordained priest in the Eastern Orthodox Church. He served as a pastor at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Baytown, Texas. Continue reading →

Nanci Danison – NDE

Nanci L. Danison holds a BS in Biology, with a concentration in Anatomy and Physiology, a BA in Psychology, and a Ph.D. in Jurisprudence. Until 1994, she was living the life of a successful trial lawyer in a large midwestern law firm. She often lectured on a national level and wrote on legal topics for the health care industry. Nanci, at one time, appeared on the news for local TV stations in public service spots for the Bar Association, one of the activities that earned her a Jaycees Ten Outstanding Citizens Award for community service. After a near death experience, Nanci left the security of her big law firm and started a successful solo practice in health law, where she continues to be recognized for her legal abilities. Nanci’s has started a local chapter of the International Association for Near-Death Studies, Inc.; earning a pilot’s license in 2000 and Private Investigator’s license in 2001; and sharing her near-death experience memories publicly. Andy Petro – NDE

In 1955, Andy Pedro drowned at a senior class picnic a few days before graduating from high school. He dove into a cold lake and got stuck in the weeds and mud on the lake’s bottom. He desperately struggled to free himself, but couldn’t. Then he heard a voice. The Voice asked him to “let go”. When he did, Andy shot out of his body into a black tunnel with a bright Light at the far end. Immediately, he felt warm, joyful, free, happy, and loved — unconditionally. While on the other side, Andy experienced a life review in which he viewed all of his lives, individually and concurrently, without any judgements or condemnations. He was absorbed into the Light and knew “everything there was to know about existence and the universe”. While feeling himself to be one with the Light, Andy also retained his unique personality. In this state of oneness, The Light and Andy talked, laughed, played, and enjoyed being together. Andy noticed that The Light has a wonderful sense of humor and also became aware that the universe was full of other beings who celebrated his presence. Eventually, the Light told Andy that I had to go back. He refused, but suddenly found himself coughing up water on the sandy beach back on earth. Continue reading →
